Protect time outside of work
Back the basics that give people time back: nearby services, usable parks, safer corridors, and places to gather.
Policy 03
Anchorage should be a place where people work to support a good life, not a place where life disappears into work. That means good jobs, neighborhoods people want to be in, and more reasons to spend time in the city we call home.
People should not have to leave Anchorage to build a career, find community, or have a life outside work. Charlie will focus on keeping that future possible here.
Back the basics that give people time back: nearby services, usable parks, safer corridors, and places to gather.
Partner with ASD, UAA, trades, employers, and local entrepreneurs so people can find real work here without leaving Anchorage to grow.
Bring life to business corridors with markets, arts, winter events, music, and gathering places that give people more to do than commute, work, shop, and sleep.
Focus on the people already here: renters hoping to stay, families balancing costs, small businesses, local artists, neighborhood organizers, and residents trying to stay here for real.
