Policy 01

Clear the path for new ISPs

Reliable internet is no longer optional. Anchorage can make it easier to build, compare, and improve service so District 5 residents are not stuck with slow, expensive, or unreliable options.

The mission

The goal is simple: more competition, better reliability, and clearer accountability. Charlie will push Anchorage to make the city easier to build in, harder to ignore, and clearer about who is getting decent service.

Reduce local barriers

Speed up city permits, street work, inspections, and utility steps when good projects are ready to move.

Build last-mile partnerships

Pay attention to the places providers skip: apartments, small businesses, and neighborhoods with few real choices.

Set service expectations

Make outage and service information easy enough for a normal person to understand.

Use public dollars carefully

Match roadwork and city projects with state and federal internet dollars, so we do not miss chances to improve service.
